Building Strong Leaders for Strong Units
Prepare. Support. Lead.
Every great Scout begins a journey with supportive adults who understand the mission, methods, and values of Scouting. The Trailhead Leadership & Training Program serves as the starting point for parents and adult volunteers who want to make a meaningful impact in their unit while helping youth develop into capable, confident leaders.
This program is designed to equip adults with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to effectively support youth leadership, strengthen unit operations, and contribute to a positive Scouting experience for every family.

A Pathway Forward
Trailhead Leadership is designed to serve as an introduction to the leadership concepts used throughout Scouting. By focusing on required adult training and foundational leadership principles, participants gain a clearer understanding of their role in supporting youth success.
The program also serves as a stepping stone to advanced leadership opportunities, including Wood Badge, helping volunteers build a strong foundation before pursuing more in-depth training experiences.
Benefits for Families and Units
When adults are equipped to lead and support effectively, everyone benefits.
Participants and units can expect:
- Stronger communication among leaders, parents, and youth
- Clearer expectations and greater understanding of unit operations
