On behalf of the Great Rivers Council, I want to introduce you to the Unit Excellence Program.
The Unit Excellence Program was developed with one purpose in mind: to clearly define what a strong, sustainable, and growing unit looks like and to support every unit in reaching that vision. This program is not about evaluation or compliance; it’s about clarity.
It brings together key elements that we know lead to success:
- Intentional program planning and delivery
- Consistent recruitment and retention
- Engaged adults and trained leadership
- Clear communication with families
- A commitment to continuous improvement
Units that plan and focus on a quality experience make the greatest impact. The strongest units share clear goals and intentional planning. Through this program, units will be recognized for excellence and supported with coaching and resources to grow.
Our commitment is simple: we will support, guide, and invest in every unit. Stronger units mean more youth served and a stronger Scouting mission. Together, our goal is for the Great Rivers Council to be the best mid-sized council in the country.
