Camperships

Thanks to the generosity of donors and select United Ways, we have a designated financial assistance fund for youth in need. Throughout the year grants are made from this fund to ensure all youth have the opportunity to experience the excitement of our camps.

Eligibility for a Campership?

Only youth who are registered members of the Great Rivers Council. Adults are encouraged to talk with their Pack, Troop or Crew leadership if they believe they require financial assistance to attend any of our council run camp programs.

Where may I use a Campership?

Camperships can be used for the following council camps operated and staffed by the Great Rivers Council:

  • Cub Scout: Day Camps, Cub Akela Camp, Cub Adventure Camp, Webelos Camp, Family Adventure Camp
  • Scouts BSA: Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation Summer Camp

How do I apply for a Campership?

Follow the instructions to fill out and return the Financial Assistance Application linked below. Applications should be submitted at the time of registration and/or prior to your trip or experience. Camperships will be awarded on a first-come, first-received basis until funds are depleted.

Notification and Timeline

Camperships will be reviewed, verification of need established and funds approved (if all information is accurate and verified) after the April 10 deadline for Scouts BSA and after May 31 deadline for Cub Scouts. When approved, the campership will be directly applied to your existing registration; notification is sent to the parent and committee chair of your Unit.

How can I donate to the Campership Fund?

To donate to the Campership fund all you need to do is make a notation in the memo line of your check or a letter attached to your donation or if paying on-line, note that this is for the Campership Fund.
